Six new initiatives, supported by the IPA III Kosovo–North Macedonia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2021–2027, have now entered the implementation phase. They are expected to deliver concrete results for municipalities and communities in both countries.

Elbert Krasniqi, Minister of Local Government Administration, announced in a Facebook post that the projects are focused on developing areas and communities across the border.

The projects cover a range of areas, including environmental protection, climate change response, risk management, tourism promotion, social inclusion and strengthening competitiveness.

In Kosovo, implementation will take place in Sharri National Park and in the municipalities of Ferizaj, Kllokot, Mamusha, Rahovec and Ranillugu. In North Macedonia, activities will be carried out in Sharri and Mavrovo National Parks, as well as in several other municipalities.

Krasniqi said that the ministry would continue to support cross-border cooperation, particularly projects that help develop municipalities and improve the quality of life for citizens.
