Citizens of Rahovec took part in the protest organized by OVL-UÇK, the municipality’s mayor, Smajl Latifi, announced. According to him, the protest was held in support of the liberation war and to honor the sacrifice of generations for Kosovo’s freedom.

In a post, Latifi wrote that Rahovec joined today’s protest to defend the truth of the liberation war and to remember those who, as he put it, stood up for Kosovo.
Describing Rahovec as a city of battles, resistance and sacrifice, he said it conveyed a shared message: “NOT IN MY NAME! FREEDOM FOR THE LIBERATORS!”
At the conclusion of his statement, Latifi linked this message to the remembrance of the sacrifice made for Kosovo’s freedom. He referred to freedom won with blood, a truth that does not fade, and the Kosovo that was desired to be free.
