A 53-year-old Ukrainian man wanted for drug trafficking as part of a criminal organization has been arrested at Rinas Airport. According to the State Police, Anatolii Streletskyi, 53, was arrested as soon as he landed at the airport, following an exchange of information with the Federal International Investigations Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Tirana.

The Joint Investigative Services Unit of the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the Rinas Border Police Commissariat, arrested the following individual through the real-time exchange of information with the DSS/OCIU Federal International Investigations Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Tirana:
A. S., 53, a Ukrainian citizen.
The individual was arrested by police services as he landed at Rinas Airport.
The Ukrainian citizen was wanted by Kyiv law enforcement authorities for drug trafficking as part of a criminal organization.
The State Police is working with partner agencies regarding this member of the criminal organization, while Interpol Tirana is working with its Ukrainian counterparts to initiate extradition procedures.
Once again, the State Police thanks its partner agencies for their continued cooperation in Albania.
