A 62-year-old man from Tetovo has been detained on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of raping a child under the age of 15.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on 25 September 2026, at around 9:45 p.m., following the publication of a video on social media, R.N. (62), from a village in the Tetovo area, turned himself in at the Tetovo Police Station. On the order of the public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Tetovo, he was detained on reasonable suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “rape of a child who has not turned 15,” under Article 188 of the Criminal Code. The man was held at the police station for further proceedings, while actions to fully clarify and document the case are ongoing.
