Environment Minister Fitore Pacolli announced that the MESP Inspectorate, together with the Kosovo Hydro-Meteorological Institute, inspected the operations of Drena LLC in Skenderaj, which produces RUKO juices and Drena dairy products.

During the inspection, it was found that the company used four private wells for its juice production line, consuming up to 10,000 liters of water per day. Wastewater was discharged near the Klina River without a Water Permit issued by the Ministry.
As a result, water use for this production line has been suspended, and operations cannot resume until the operator obtains a Water Permit.
Violations were also identified in the milk-processing line. Because it lacked a wastewater treatment plant, Drena was fined €3,000 and ordered to install and bring the plant into operation.
Pacolli stressed that local businesses should be supported in their development, but are also required to operate in accordance with the law and protect Kosovo’s natural resources.
