A 41-year-old man of Latvian origin was struck by a vehicle in Milan after allegedly threatening a passerby with a knife.

The incident was recorded on Saturday at around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Corso di Porta Vittoria and Piazza Cinque Giornate.
Based on the preliminary reconstruction, police suspect that the 41-year-old, who had previous convictions, pointed a knife at a 35-year-old Italian man.
A driver who was nearby witnessed the incident and, intending to stop the attacker, hit him with his car.
The injured man was taken to Policlinico Hospital. Doctors found injuries to his legs and gave him a prognosis of more than 40 days.
The driver is under investigation for causing serious bodily harm, while the 41-year-old is being investigated without detention for aggravated threats.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine all the circumstances of the incident.
