According to the party, “Mickoski’s criminal government is failing to guarantee citizens clean water, while pushing ahead with five new mines, including an antimony mine, as well as data centers.”
“The draft law on the Spatial Plan envisages five new mines: Ilovica-Shtuka, Kazandol, Plavica, Kadiica and Luke, as well as geological surveys on Mount Kozhuv. One of them is an antimony mine; antimony is a metal used in the military industry. Its waste seeps into the soil, wells and factories. Near old mines in various parts of the world, toxic soil and water pollution persists for years. It is often associated with arsenic, which damages the lungs, liver, skin and heart,” SDSM said in its response.
The party added that “an agreement has already been reached for the data centers, and the company has announced that it has secured access to 100 MW of electricity and to the Vardar River. Without transparency and away from public scrutiny, thief Mickoski is putting water and soil at risk, endangering people’s health. Mickoski’s priorities are business interests, commissions and profits. We demand that the spatial plan be halted. SDSM will oppose this criminal sell-off at the people’s expense.”
