Today, lawyers’ boycott at the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) is being extended to hearings concerning security measures.

Until now, the boycott had applied only to trials on the merits. Starting today, lawyers will also skip hearings to impose or change security measures.
The boycott was prompted by the GJKKO’s regulation, which lawyers oppose on the grounds that it undermines their ability to practice their profession and places them in a discriminatory position while carrying out their duties.
Through this action, lawyers are seeking a review or repeal of the regulation. The boycott now also includes hearings on security measures.
