Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly Albulena Haxhiu said that the Assembly had adopted a joint position regarding the statement on the judgment issued by the Specialist Chambers in The Hague against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.

She described the KLA’s war as just and said that no court ruling could change this truth. Haxhiu called on the institutions to draft a joint legal and diplomatic strategy, while stressing that the appeals process is part of the path toward justice.

Today, the Kosovo Assembly expressed a joint position through the Declaration regarding the judgment of the Specialist Chambers in The Hague against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
The Kosovo Liberation Army was the means through which our people justly fought for freedom and independence. It was created in response to Serbia’s repression and serious crimes, at a time when our people were being killed, expelled and forced to leave their homes. No judgment can erase this truth.
The institutions of the Republic of Kosovo must act in unity and, through a joint legal and diplomatic strategy, defend the truth and accurately convey to the world our people’s war for freedom.
The appeals process marks the continuation of the pursuit of justice. We will stand together in this battle until the former KLA leaders are fully released.
