A teacher at a secondary school in Ravenna, Italy, found himself in an embarrassing situation after accidentally sending students a photograph showing part of his genitals during communication with them.

The incident occurred on Sunday, September 27, when he was photographing pages from a book and sending the materials to chat groups with students. According to his explanation, the intimate image was included in the message by accident.
The photograph was deleted immediately, but some students had already downloaded it. Its circulation sparked reactions and anger among the family members of the students who were in the group.
After the incident, student representatives met with the school’s administrators. By Tuesday, September 30, the teacher had still not appeared at the school.
“It was a terrible accident, a fatal mistake. At no point did I intend to send my students photographs of my genitals. I am not crazy,” he told the daily newspaper Il Resto del Carlino.
The teacher said that on Sunday he had decided to send the students some notes and began photographing pages from the materials.
“I widened the camera’s field of view to make sure the photos included the entire page, but without realizing it, I also photographed part of my genitals. I often stay naked at home because it gets very hot, and I did not notice it at all. I understand why the parents were angry when they saw the photograph, but that was not my intention. I feel as though I am living in a film,” he said.
In the end, the teacher said he felt ashamed and did not know how he would return to face the others at school.
