The federation’s request came one day after the Government decided to distribute the 13th salary to public sector employees.

In an official reaction, FSPTSPK called on the executive to establish the appropriate method and measures to extend this benefit to private sector workers as well.

The federation warned that, if this does not happen, it will activate all trade union means allowed by law to protect the rights and interests of private employees. According to the federation, workers in this sector should not be treated as second-class citizens and constantly excluded from benefits that are also supported by their contributions, reports “Bota sot.”

FSPTSPK stressed that the private sector is one of the main foundations of Kosovo’s economy and plays an important role in financing the state budget through the payment of taxes and duties.

The federation emphasized that the revenues generated by work and the fiscal contributions of the private sector are used by the Government to finance the 13th salary for public employees, while private workers themselves, who help fill the state coffers, do not benefit from this measure.

For this reason, FSPTSPK asked the Government to examine the issue urgently and take measures to include private sector employees in the 13th salary scheme.
