According to the party, no new conditions have been imposed and there is no new negotiating framework. LSDM accuses Prime Minister Mickoski of deceiving citizens with his promise to annul the Prespa Agreement.
“The Prespa Agreement has not been annulled and the name has not been restored, as Mickoski promised. The false promises that brought him to power have now been discredited. In the absence of a new lie that he can present as a smokescreen, the deceiver is trying to revive the same claims. Before Timcho Mucunski travels for a meeting next week, Mickoski is talking about the capitulation of fascist Bulgaria and the occupation of the territory of today’s Macedonia during the Second World War,” LSDM said in its response.
“He is not seeking a solution, but trying to avoid sitting down at the negotiating table. He himself says that we are talking, but not negotiating. That is precisely the truth: he is not negotiating because he does not aim to achieve a result. His goal is to keep the conflict alive. He has acted the same way with Greece and Bulgaria, from the campaign until today. This is not the way to approach a neighbor, much less to negotiate a path toward the Union,” the statement continued.
LSDM added that such an approach does not lead to a solution. “The example is simple and understandable to everyone: you do not invite your neighbor if you do not intend to receive them properly, and then you cannot be surprised when the table remains empty. This is not diplomacy, but an excuse for avoiding talks. LSDM does not engage in historical debates, because history is determined by historians. The state’s duty is to take care of its institutions, and they must guarantee progress. The gang is using the former to obstruct the latter because the European Union sets rules, and those rules do not suit the leader of the gang,” the response said.
