Meteorologist Lajda Porja, speaking live on Euronews with Alba Xhani, said that the weekend would be characterized by rain across most of the country, while the weather is expected to stabilize during the first days of next week.

According to the forecast, the rain may occasionally be heavy, particularly in Shkodër, Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana and Elbasan. Temperatures will remain around 25 degrees, while another episode of rainfall is expected during the final week of October.
Porja said that the rain would initially begin in the north around midday before spreading across the entire territory during the second half of the day. During Saturday afternoon, evening and night, mainly moderate rainfall is expected, although certain areas may also experience intense spells, particularly Shkodër, Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana and Elbasan.
During the evening and night, rainfall will also be concentrated in the south of the country, especially in Vlora County, where heavy showers are expected. These conditions will continue through Sunday night and morning, with the possibility that the rain may occasionally be accompanied by thunderstorms.
The weather will begin to improve during the second half of Sunday. Rainfall will move toward mountainous areas, while on Monday and Tuesday it will remain limited to the northeastern and southeastern edges of the country. From Wednesday, several sunny days and more stable atmospheric conditions are expected.
“The situation remains unstable, while the most problematic rainfall is expected tonight, during the afternoon, night and Sunday morning. On Monday and Tuesday, there will be only light rainfall in mountainous areas, while from Wednesday until around the 21st, stable weather with sunshine and no rain will prevail. There are indications that after the 21st, during the final week of October, another system of clouds will bring rainfall across the territory,” Porja said.
Regarding temperatures, the meteorologist said that it was now time to wear autumn clothing, following the relatively high temperatures with which October began.
Mornings will continue to be mild, with minimum temperatures of 10 or 11 degrees, while maximum temperatures are expected to be around 245 degrees and to fluctuate at approximately these levels throughout the week.
No significant thermal change is forecast, as temperatures will remain mainly at 24-25 degrees. In isolated areas, particularly Elbasan and Berat, they may reach as high as 26°.
