NAME/ Explosion at the “Motor Oil” refinery in Greece two days ago: another Albanian dies

Developments in the workplace accident that occurred at the “Motor Oil” facilities in Agioi Theodoroi, Greece, are tragic, as shortly before 1 p.m. on Sunday, the second seriously injured worker, 50-year-old Dorian Hysa, also died, according to information from thriassio.gr.

The unfortunate 50-year-old man was admitted to Elefsina’s “Thriasio” General Hospital in an intubated and extremely critical condition after suffering serious head injuries.

Despite doctors’ efforts to keep him alive, he succumbed to his injuries, bringing the accident’s tragic death toll to two.

As a reminder, 43-year-old Robert Cakaj, who was of Albanian origin and had multiple injuries, was transferred to the Burns Unit at Thriasio but died in hospital on October 9, despite doctors’ efforts to keep him alive.

Meanwhile, Greek police are investigating inadequate safety measures during the maintenance work.

The authorities proceeded with three further arrests of “Motor Oil” managers who were directly involved in supervising the controversial project.
