The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported the incident on Sunday, citing accounts from survivors.

According to IOM data, the boat capsized overnight between October 8 and 9 near the Guhere area, north of the port city of Obock in Djibouti.

More than 80 people survived the sinking. The organization’s report states that all the survivors are Ethiopian nationals.

A representative of the Ethiopian government did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the tragedy.

The latest incident adds to a series of tragedies along migration routes in the Horn of Africa and the Gulf of Aden, where migrants face dangerous sea journeys to reach Yemen.
