An incident during a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York ended with the arrest and hospitalization of American actress Selma Blair on Sunday, October 11. U.S. media reported that she was suspected of biting two flight attendants during an attack on them and trying to open the plane door.

Reports that a female passenger had used physical violence on board prompted airport authorities to take action. Two crew members were injured in the incident, one of whom needed to be taken to hospital.
A Delta Airlines spokesperson also confirmed the intervention after the plane arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. According to the company, the incident had no impact on the flight, while the safety of passengers and crew remains its top priority.
Reports by U.S. media said the episodes did not end with Blair being removed from the plane. The actress was allegedly being taken by ambulance to hospital when she repeatedly kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head.
Another alleged assault later took place at the hospital, this time against a nurse, who filed a complaint in connection with the incident.
“Page Six” reported that Blair faces two federal assault charges. Meanwhile, the charges related to the alleged actions against the police officer and the nurse are at the state level. The FBI is investigating the incident.
The actress’s spokesperson, speaking to the BBC, linked the alleged behavior to a medical emergency she had experienced. He said Blair was given medical assistance immediately after the plane landed and that her condition is currently stable.
Blair is 54 and is known for her performances in “Cruel Intentions,” “Legally Blonde” and “Hellboy.” She made her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis public in 2018.
