In a statement to the media, the agency said its staff had monitored the protests on the ground and identified specific cases. AMP has also gathered footage shown in the media or posted on social media.

The material will be analyzed and verified to establish the circumstances and determine responsibility.

In cases where the findings may indicate elements of criminal offenses, proceedings are being conducted under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Tirana Court of General Jurisdiction.

AMP said it is taking the measures permitted by its legal authority in relation to the identified cases, in cooperation with the relevant State Police structures. According to the agency, this cooperation will not affect the independence of the reviews and investigation.

AMP also said it would continue to monitor and review every case related to police officers’ performance of their duties.

The agency stressed that the process would be guided by impartiality, accountability and the rule of law, as well as respect for citizens’ fundamental rights and freedoms.
