Arbërie Nagavci, head of the Vetëvendosje Movement’s parliamentary group, welcomed the approval in the second reading of amendments and additions to the Law on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism.

In a Facebook post, Nagavci described the development as good news for citizens, businesses and the diaspora, saying it creates the conditions for meeting the final legal requirement needed for Kosovo to join SEPA.
She said that moving closer to the European financial system is expected to directly reduce the cost of bank transfers.
Nagavci said annual savings could amount to around €58 million, benefiting citizens, businesses and members of the diaspora who send money to Kosovo.
At the end of her statement, she thanked the MPs who voted in favor of the law on Thursday, describing it as important for the country’s economy and future.
Nagavci stressed that integration into SEPA would bring Kosovo even closer to the European financial system and benefit citizens, businesses and the diaspora.
