Berisha said that the students were facing barbaric violence from the “narco-dictator,” while trade unions and opposition political forces had also joined their protest.

He added that tens of thousands of citizens were arriving in the capital from all parts of the country, while some of them had come the previous evening.

“Today, all of Albania is in Tirana, in full support of the students and against the narco-dictator who is inflicting barbaric violence on them. The students, trade unions and opposition political forces are today offering the strongest support to the student revolt,” he said.

Berisha described Edvin Kristaq Xhelati’s confrontation with the students as a battle that would lead to his political downfall, which he characterized as shameful and deserved.
