Former European Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo and Bundestag candidate in Göttingen Viola von Cramon welcomed the announcement that Student List will not cooperate with Serb List. In a post on X on the night of November 1, she described it as a significant political development, Indeksonline reports.
“It is certainly a major change,” von Cramon wrote. She said it remains to be seen what impact the decision will have on Kosovo–Serbia relations.

Student List’s position was announced by its candidate, Jugosllav Gashiq. Speaking to Radio Kim on October 30, he described Serb List as a “contractor” for the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in Kosovo and called its results catastrophic. Gashiq said the party’s representatives had secured votes for years through pressure and blackmail.
According to Irish broadcaster RTÉ, Student List won Serbia’s October 25 parliamentary election, taking 53 percent of the vote and 140 of the 250 seats. Aleksandër Vuçiq’s coalition secured about 39 percent.
However, Student List has not changed its position on Kosovo’s status. Its representatives have expressed support for dialogue with Pristina, but only within the framework of Serbia’s Constitution.
For years, Serb List has been the dominant political force among Kosovo Serbs and has had close ties to the authorities in Belgrade. After the election, it said it remained committed to institutional ties with Belgrade.
