Persian Gulf states strengthen defenses amid fears of a new US-Iran conflict

The risk of a new military confrontation between the United States and Iran is causing concern among Persian Gulf countries. At the Manama Dialogue, an international security conference held in Bahrain, officials and analysts warned that fighting could resume soon.

According to analysts at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, signals from the US administration suggest that preparations may be underway for another military strike against Iran.

In response to this risk, Persian Gulf states are spending more on defense. They are purchasing modern military systems and anti-drone technology, while also expanding cooperation with international partners. Any further escalation would have serious consequences for regional security and the global economy.

German representative Nils Schmid said the conflict had already driven up oil prices, increased inflation and weakened the economy. For this reason, Germany and other European countries support resolving the impasse through diplomacy.

Arab Gulf countries, meanwhile, are seeking to broaden their circle of security partners amid growing doubts about relying on US support alone in the long term. New partnerships are being formed with Turkey, Pakistan and South Korea, while the United Arab Emirates is also investing in Israeli technology.

Despite the tensions, diplomatic efforts to prevent a new conflict are continuing. Qatar is currently holding talks with both Iran and the United States.
