Kusari-Lila: Fuel price cap to return if the drop is not reflected in Kosovo starting tomorrow

The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MINT) will reinstate the fuel price cap if prices in Kosovo do not fall starting tomorrow in line with the decline in global markets. Industry Minister Mimoza Kusari-Lila issued the warning during today’s session of the Assembly.

Responding to a question from Alliance MP Albana Bytyqi, Kusari-Lila said the past two days had marked the beginning of a drop in fuel prices on international markets.

The minister described the development as positive and said she expected it to be reflected in Kosovo’s market starting tomorrow. Otherwise, she said, the ministry would intervene by setting a maximum fuel price once again.

Kusari-Lila explained that there is a legal basis for reinstating the price cap, and that the measure would be implemented if the domestic market does not reflect the drop in international prices.
