In a social media post, Prime Minister Edi Rama renewed his call for dialogue with protesting students, who have been demonstrating in Tirana for several weeks and demanding that he step down.
The head of government again shared a photograph of a stone table on which he had placed notes marked “Dialogue,” signaling that he remains open to communicating with the students.

So far, however, the protesters have rejected the prime minister’s invitations, insisting that their main demand is Rama’s resignation.
The protests have continued for several weeks in the capital. Students have organized marches through the streets of Tirana and stopped near various faculties in an effort to broaden support for their movement. Lecturers have also joined them, publicly expressing solidarity with the protesters.
