Court of Appeal reduces Ilir Beqaraj’s sentence for the killing of 42-year-old Gentian Bejtja in Fushë Krujë

The Court of Appeal has changed the lower court’s ruling for Ilir Beqaraj, who was accused of killing former prison police officer Gentian Bejtja, significantly reducing his prison sentence.

The panel of judges sentenced Beqaraj to 20 years in prison, but because he benefited from an expedited trial, the final sentence he will serve is 12 years and 8 months.
