Elbasan police have established the sequence of events in a serious incident in the early hours of November 5, 2026, in the “28 Nëntori” neighborhood, where a car belonging to an Elbasan Municipality employee caught fire after an explosive device detonated.
According to an official police statement, the incident occurred at around 02:00, when an explosive charge detonated at one of the front tires of a Volkswagen belonging to a woman identified by the initials A. D.

The explosion set the car on fire, and the flames spread, damaging a Benz parked nearby.
Immediately after the incident, investigators began working to fully document what had happened, establish the circumstances and identify the person responsible.
Following its inquiries, police said they had fully established the sequence of events and identified and arrested the suspected perpetrator.
