The Government of Kosovo held an electronic meeting last night, approving a number of draft laws and decisions.

Among the approved acts was the Draft Law on the State Bureau for the Verification and Confiscation of Unjustified Assets. The draft law provides for the establishment and organization of the Bureau, defines its powers, and sets out the procedures for verifying and confiscating unjustified assets.
As part of the justice reform, the Government approved the Draft Law on the Recruitment, Performance Evaluation, Integrity Checks and Status of Judges and Prosecutors. It regulates the recruitment, performance evaluation, integrity checks and status of judges and prosecutors.
The Draft Law on the Disciplinary Responsibility of Judges and Prosecutors was also approved. It defines the principles, procedures, competent bodies and measures to be applied in cases of violations of professional obligations.
Also approved were draft laws amending and supplementing the Law on the Kosovo Judicial Council and the Law on the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, as well as the Draft Law on the Justice Academy.
According to the Government, the Draft Law on the Justice Academy aims to guarantee continuous, high-quality and standardized professional development for judges, prosecutors and other professionals connected to the justice system.
The Government also approved the Draft Law on Energy and the Draft Law on Electricity.
According to the official announcement, the Draft Law on Energy establishes the general principles and rules for activities in the energy sector in the Republic of Kosovo. It aims to ensure a secure, sustainable and high-quality energy supply, enable active participation in regional and pan-European energy markets, and create an open, transparent and competitive market with affordable, market-based prices. The draft law also provides for the protection and empowerment of consumers, including vulnerable consumers, the integration of energy from renewable sources, and improved environmental and climate protection.
Meanwhile, the Draft Law on Electricity aims to establish the rules and measures for this sector in order to guarantee a secure, sustainable and high-quality supply of electricity, with transparent and affordable prices for final consumers, while also taking the country’s climate targets into account.
Among the approved decisions was also the Draft Law on the Ratification of the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the French Development Agency for the 21st Mediterranean Games Project in Kosovo.
The meeting also approved the Draft Law on Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Draft Law on Late Payments in Commercial Transactions.
The latter aims to prevent payment delays in commercial transactions and establish the rules for the deadlines and method of calculating late-payment interest between commercial companies, as well as between commercial companies and public authorities.
The Government decided to propose to the Assembly candidates for chair of the board of the Energy Regulatory Office, together with candidates for the two positions of members of this board.
Several decisions were also approved on leasing parts of parcels in various cadastral zones, intended for the extraction, processing and use of limestone, decorative stone and other materials.
The parcels are located in Semaja in Kaçanik, Vasileva and Upper Korrotica in Drenas, Rahovec, Samadrexha in Suhareka, Zatriq in Rahovec, Raçak in Shtime and Strazha in Kaçanik.
During the meeting, the Government also approved the Declaration of the Government’s Medium-Term Priorities 2027–2029. This document establishes the policy framework for preparing the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and the annual budget.
In another decision, the Government extended the mandate of the Commission for the Verification of Diplomas Issued by the University of North Mitrovica for three months.
Finally, the decision on the list of potential members of the Admissions Commission for the Lower and Middle Management Category was approved, as was the decision to suspend a senior civil servant from employment.
