The 119th protest against the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama has ended, with participants reiterating their demand for the prime minister’s immediate and non-negotiable resignation.

During today’s rally, citizens marched through the streets of Tirana, chanting “Arrest Rama,” “Arrest Balluku” and “Albania demands a revolution.”
Protesters said they would continue holding rallies, with Edi Rama’s removal from office among their main demands. They said the protests would not stop until their demands were addressed.
The march took place at a time when political debate has focused on several recent issues and investigations involving important state institutions.
One of the issues in focus concerns former SHISH director Vlora Hyseni, who has been arrested as part of an investigation.
Communications between her and Ergys Agasi, who has also been arrested and is facing charges from the justice authorities, were published in recent days. The opposition has claimed he has links to organized crime.
These developments have heightened tensions on the political scene, while citizens who took part in the protest are calling for change and institutional accountability.
