Acting on an order from the Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo, the Directorate for the Investigation of War Crimes, together with other specialized units of the Kosovo Police, carried out an operation in the municipality of Zubin Potok in the early hours of the morning.

The operation, codenamed “Case File 23,” ended with the arrest of nine people suspected of committing war crimes against the civilian population.
The investigation is linked to the case known as the “Group of Intellectuals,” which concerns suspicions over the disappearance of intellectuals during the spring of 1999.
According to information provided by the Special Prosecution Office and the Kosovo Police, the arrested individuals are suspected of having taken part in these events and in the commission of war crimes. As part of the operation, nine different locations were searched, while the authorities also seized various materials.
