Police detained 11 drivers in various parts of the country over the past 24 hours on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “reckless driving,” provided for under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code.

The Ministry of Interior announced that nine of those detained were driving vehicles without having passed their driving tests. The group includes O.M. (26) and S.N. (30), from Skopje; D.K. (26), from the village of Jurumler; a 17-year-old from the village of Studeniçan; K.D. (47), from Gostivar; A.S. (18), from Negotino; M.K. (46), from Gevgelija; B.P. (36), from Prilep; and K.D. (48), from Bitola.
J.T. (36), from the village of Viniçan in the Municipality of Gradsko, is suspected of being behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol. Meanwhile, F.G. (20), from Koçani, was driving even though he was subject to an active driving ban.
The Ministry of Interior said that, after the documentation procedures are completed, the relevant criminal charges will be filed against the suspects.
