In a social media post, Latimer said he discussed with Kurti ways the United States could support Kosovo.
“During my meeting in New York with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, we discussed ways the US can help his country with security and sovereignty issues,” Latimer wrote.
He described the meeting as productive and said he received a collection of commemorative stamps marking the United States’ 250th anniversary as a gift at the end of it.
“The meeting was productive and concluded with the presentation of a collection of stamps for the 250th anniversary, representing our country’s independence celebrations. Meanwhile, we continue to be partners in Kosovo’s pursuit of independence,” he said.
The meeting in New York is part of contacts between Kosovo representatives and US officials, with security and sovereignty as the main topics.
