Protesters are demanding that Rama resign and leave politics. Their banners displayed criticism of the government and messages with an ironic tone.
Some of them referred to the prime minister’s remarks during the joint press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, where he spoke about good governance and the country’s progress.
One banner pointed out: “At a conference with the EU he talks about progress, but with Bela and the incinerators he puts up resistance.”
Another was addressed directly to the prime minister: “Your responsibility does not end with a speech; for every theft there will be punishment.”
The protest continues in Tirana, where citizens are expressing their opposition to the government and their demand for political change.
