Gazment Bardhi, chairman of the Democratic Party’s Parliamentary Group, has reacted to the inclusion of Territorial Reform on the agenda. In a social media post, he accused the governing majority of having predetermined the new territorial map.

According to him, the main criterion is Prime Minister Edi Rama’s electoral interest. Bardhi said the new territorial division is not based on citizens’ needs, but on the electoral interests of the Socialist Party and the relationship between mayors and Prime Minister Rama.
Gazment Bardhi: The Socialist Party’s territorial map was predetermined, just like the tenders of Edi Rama and Belinda Balluku. Just like the business deal with Ron Jefeti, to whom Rama is handing over the arms industry with state guarantees.
The Socialist Party’s territorial map resembles Vlora Hyseni: she shut down the radars for her and Rama’s Ergys; this one is removing 15 municipalities from the map for the Prime Minister’s personal power. The criterion behind this division is Rama’s electoral interest and the mayors’ loyalty to him, not citizens’ needs. This is the question raised by the Socialist Party’s law: why do the interests of those in power always find a solution, while citizens’ municipalities disappear?
