Further to the preliminary information provided last night about the explosion of a moving “Benz” vehicle, which is suspected to have been caused by an explosive device and resulted in injuries to the driver and passenger, we inform you that the driver of the vehicle, citizen B. D., 45, a resident of Gjirokastër, died while being transported to Tirana.
The passenger, citizen E. M., 26, a resident of Gjirokastër, is in hospital and out of danger. In the preliminary information, he had been identified by the initials R. M.
The investigation team is continuing its work to legally document the case and identify and apprehend the perpetrator or perpetrators.
