SPAK, in coordination with the State Police, has carried out an operation targeting a group suspected of human trafficking and transporting irregular migrants.

Journalist Klodiana Lala reports that Jorgji Kuvarati, Erius Hajdari, Arzen Bregasi and Lamela Berlat have been arrested. Meanwhile, authorities have declared another person wanted on suspicion of involvement in the criminal activity.
According to preliminary information, those arrested are suspected of operating as part of a group that organized crossings for irregular migrants, also known as clandestine migrants.
The joint investigation by the Special Prosecution Office and the State Police aims to uncover the group’s full activities and identify any other people who may have been involved.
It was previously reported that five arrest warrants had been signed for this operation, including warrants for police officers. So far, however, no comprehensive official information has been released about each suspect’s role or whether any of those arrested is a member of the State Police.
SPAK and the police are expected to release further details about the group’s organization, the routes used to transport migrants and the specific charges against those involved.
