On Europe’s eastern flank, no one intends to abandon the Atlantic alliance—or, more precisely, the military leadership of the United States.

This explains why American General Alexus Grynkewich’s speech was among the most eagerly anticipated and warmly applauded at the Warsaw Security Forum, according to foreign media reports.
Grynkewich holds the post of NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe, a role traditionally assigned only to American military officers. He also heads the United States European Command.
This dual responsibility gives him a broad audience, as he was appointed by Donald Trump, Corriere della Sera writes.
The general opened his speech with the old saying, “If you want peace, prepare for war,” as he presented what he called “the alliance’s victory plan” and stressed that US support for its European allies is guaranteed.
“This plan is backed by all 32 partners in the alliance. NATO has a fundamental advantage: we monitor the surrounding territory through a sophisticated intelligence system that allows us to process vast amounts of data using algorithms. It is very difficult to catch us by surprise. We will therefore be able to repel any initial attack. If necessary, we will destroy the enemy’s deployed forces by bringing our conventional forces into action: the army, air force and navy, as well as cyber units. In this way, we will not allow the enemy to occupy even a small part of our territory,” Grynkewich said.
The general clarified that this does not mean they see a conflict as imminent; they want to be prepared for what is possible, not just what is probable. He added technical details and insisted that NATO can already rely on a clear technological advantage and well-trained military contingents.
Finally, he listed US priorities: “First comes our national security; second, the security of our continent; third, the Indo-Pacific region; and fourth, Europe.”
