Singer Luiz Ejlli, appearing on Grida Duma’s “Top Story” show, said that the protest was the major issue of the moment. Ejlli stressed that the protesters’ actions should not overshadow the reason for the protest and the public anger.

“Following a decision by Top Channel’s management, it was decided that the show would not be broadcast. Since my show is about entertainment, games and music, this is not the time for that. If we focus on stones, traffic lights or three burning trash bins, we are moving away from the reason those people are there.
“Those people have many problems, and the state should call them in, try to talk to them and solve their problems—not demand to know who brought them there.
“The peaceful protest was an example to the world, but it was met with indifference. I remember 1997 and January 21, 2011, and I don’t want to say that Rama came to power in blood and is leaving in the same way. I know many police officers, and I can’t imagine them attacking those young people out of nowhere.
“The people are being ignored; MPs and ministers have been ordered not to speak. Did the president speak? You don’t just post on Facebook—you do things properly. Young people cover their faces because their parents are at work; they are identified and pressured,” Ejlli said.
