During the hearing, the appeal of Naim Murseli, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife, Liridona Ademaj, will be examined.

The appeal, prepared by Murseli’s two lawyers and submitted in 30 pages, seeks annulment of the verdict or its replacement with a lighter sentence.

The defense claims that the first-instance court examined the evidence selectively and in a biased manner. The filing also raises questions about the way police questioned Murseli.

The lawyers also say the court did not take into account some of their requests, including reconstruction of the crime scene and examination of Murseli’s clothes.

An appeal to the Appeals Court has also been filed by Leotrim Syla, the lawyer of the late Liridona Ademaj.

Syla is seeking that, in addition to Naim Murseli and Granit Plava, Kushtrim Kokalla also be sentenced to life imprisonment.
